Dont you feel like everytime you read the bible it feels like your reading it for the first time? getting new things out of it, and most of the time it brings clarity or wisdom or even just encouragement into your situation and life! It surely is the word breathed by God...bringing power and light if we are open to hearing from him.
I think its quite strange how people use Jesus' name in everyday conversation and God's as well for that matter without even comprehending what they are saying and who they are offending, being God himself... you hear 'thank god' or 'jesus christ' or 'oh my God' when this talk has just become everyday language to most but not once do they actually think about them both. If people actually knew the power behind the names, the actual God behind what they think are just words then I believe they would be on the knees in reverance to God. I just read in the word
"Though he was God he did not demand and cling to his rights as God. He made himself nothing...humbled himself even further by dying a criminal's death on a cross. Because of this, God raised him up to the heights of heaven and gave him a name that is above every other name, so that at the name of jesus every knee will bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue will confess that jesus is Lord, to the glory of God the father." phil 2:6-11
We are far from perfect...However God sees us as perfect, he doesnt look at the sin in our lives he looks at our hearts...you know how people sometimes say 'I dont hate him/her, I just hate what his/she's doing', I think God is kinda like that, still loving us completely but just hating all the sin that keeps us apart from him. So can I leave you with a passage that will I hope keep you enduring or searching for the truth and God himself, as I am too still running...
"I don't mean to say that I have already acheived these things or that I have reached perfection! but I keep working towards that day when I will finally be all that Jesus Christ saved me for and wants me to be. But I am focusing all my energies on this one thing. Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead. I strain to reach the end of the race and recieve the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven." phil 3:12-14
p.s. God is a breath of fresh air.
